Why IS The Party of ‘NO’ So Full of Hypocrites?

By virtually any measure, Republican politicians out perform Democrats when it comes to disrespecting the institution of marriage, and full on, unadulterated hypocrisy. I wonder if the same translates for civilian Republicans. I’m guessing…probably for sure.

Oh, aren’t these stories always rich? I recall how Newt Gingrich was found to have had an affair after his severe vocal criticisms of Bill Clinton. And then his replacement as Speaker of the House, Livingston, never managed to take that office as he, too, was found to have had an affair. And they finally had to settle on virtuous but ineffectual Denny Hastert.

And let’s not forget congressman Dan Burton of Indiana, who led the charge to investigate every possible angle of the oval office BJ, and who later had to resign in disgrace for his own sexual misconduct.

Republicans are so damn sexually repressed, they won’t admit that they actually engage in such activities, even legitimately, and they do all they can to restrict anyone else from doing it either. And then they end up having the greatest humiliation when their secret sexy lives are revealed.

Think Progress reminds us that Senator Ensign was the guy who called on President Clinton to resign in 1998 because:“He has no credibility left.” How much credibility does Ensign have left?

”’ Levi Johnston, noted Palin daughter-nailer, has hired Tank Jones, “a size-58 suit-wearing black man,” to manage his career and be his bodyguard. He’s also developed an alter ego to help him destroy his Wasilla-ness and fully embrace douchedom—”Ricky Hollywood.”

You just knew this was coming, right? Sooner or later you just knew that the sweet and hopelessly ignorant kid from the Alaskan tundra who just wanted to float aimlessly through life hunting, fishing, playing hockey and banging chicks, would have his life destroyed by the sudden fame that came with having knocked up the daughter of the most ridiculous American public figure in the history of ridiculous American public figures. So very sad. ”’

Sort of like when red-necks win the lottery.

Same reason this guy is full of bovine excrement. Not the author, but the elected politician.

Let’s not forget the other world class hypocrite: Henry, (youthful indiscretion while 40), Hyde. That’s why so many republicans call themselves Independent, but they still want to grab anything they can that jiggles or jingles while condemning others.

    Disgusting!

Let’s talk about lefty policy hypocrites:
Obama is against school choice and vouchers but “chooses” to send his kids to private school.
Joe Kennedy is in favor clean energy but not near where he goes yachting.
Ted Kennedy is in favor of the estate tax but has his family’s money in Fiji to avoid taxation.
All of Hollywood is lefty and pro-union but makes movies in Canada for the sole reason of avoiding the US union wages.
The Clinton’s are in favor of affirmative action, but send their white rich advantaged kid to Stanford displacing a less advantaged poor minority student.

    Another damned hypocrite!

Maybe we should put Lindsey under oath so he can lie about his personal “secrets.” Oh, I forgot – Republicans don’t have to go under oath – Bush sure didn’t.

“Most Americans look at this as a personal situation.”

    Eat my shit!

Wait a minute? Aren’t you all the same ones who said that Bill Clinton’s pathological fillandering as well as sexual assualt on a married woman (remember that?) was none of our business? Talk about hypocrites.

    brewski:

You probably still believe that Hillary dragged Vince Fosters dead body across a parking lot in broad daylight too, right?

  11. #11 by brewski on June 23, 2009 - 3:33 pm

Apparently you are the only person in America who still thinks Bill Clinton went “jogging” in Little Rock. Ahhh, a true believer. How refreshing.

  12. #12 by Larry Bergan on June 23, 2009 - 9:09 pm

I’m unfamiliar with any “jogging” incident, but I did hear about the haircut heard round the world in his first days in office.

    Is jogging bad?

  13. #13 by brewski on June 24, 2009 - 9:40 am

Back in the 80′s Bill Clinton would tell Hillary that he was going jogging. But he remained hefty and never seemed to get into shape. Turns out his “jogging” was really when he slipped out to go screw Gennifer Flowers and others. So yes, he really did screw Gennifer Flowers regularly for years, he also assaulted Kathleen Willey and Paula Jones and really did get a blow job from Monica Lewinsky in a room adjacent to the Oval Office.

He really was found in contempt of court for commiting perjury to a grand jury and did have his law license suspended by the Arkansas Bar.

Tell me which part of this is untrue.

I have no idea why you think that has anything to do with Vince Foster’s death.

  14. #14 by Larry Bergan on June 24, 2009 - 7:40 pm

Paula Jones’s own lawyer confided in David Brock because Brock was a star in the republican party at the time. He told him that the Paula Jones thing was a scam.

I don’t know about the others, and frankly don’t care, except for Kathleen Willey. If she’s the one who said she was raped, why didn’t she press charges instead of just going on the media at an opportune time, years later?

Concerning the oval office, I don’t care whether somebody takes his coat off in respect for the office or give somebody a blow job, I really don’t. What I care about is when somebody lies us into a war and secretly takes away ALL of our civil liberties.

    What I asked you was:

You probably still believe that Hillary dragged Vince Fosters dead body across a parking lot in broad daylight too, right?

If you don’t believe that, then that’s a good thing, I just wanted to know if you bought it.

  15. #15 by brewski on June 24, 2009 - 9:17 pm

I have never heard how Hillary dragged Vince Fosters body so it would be hard to believe something I have never heard.

As for lying about Iraq, tell me which of the following quotes are lies told by an evil man who was making up intelligence as a pretext to attack Iraq for no worthy reason:

“Saddam Hussein must not be allowed to threaten his neighbors or the world with nuclear arms, poison gas or biological weapons.”

“Other countries possess weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missiles. With Saddam, there is one big difference: He has used them. Not once, but repeatedly. Unleashing chemical weapons against Iranian troops during a decade-long war. Not only against soldiers, but against civilians, firing Scud missiles at the citizens of Israel, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Iran. And not only against a foreign enemy, but even against his own people, gassing Kurdish civilians in Northern Iraq.”

“And mark my words, he will develop weapons of mass destruction. He will deploy them, and he will use them. ”

“The international community had little doubt then, and I have no doubt today, that left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will use these terrible weapons again.”

“I made it very clear at that time what unconditional cooperation meant, based on existing UN resolutions and Iraq’s own commitments. And along with Prime Minister Blair of Great Britain, I made it equally clear that if Saddam failed to cooperate fully, we would be prepared to act without delay, diplomacy or warning.”

“This situation presents a clear and present danger to the stability of the Persian Gulf and the safety of people everywhere. The international community gave Saddam one last chance to resume cooperation with the weapons inspectors. Saddam has failed to seize the chance.”

“Finally, our allies, including Prime Minister Tony Blair of Great Britain, concurred that now is the time to strike. I hope Saddam will come into cooperation with the inspection system now and comply with the relevant UN Security Council resolutions. But we have to be prepared that he will not, and we must deal with the very real danger he poses.”

“Heavy as they are, the costs of action must be weighed against the price of inaction. If Saddam defies the world and we fail to respond, we will face a far greater threat in the future. Saddam will strike again at his neighbors. He will make war on his own people.”

    End of quiz.

I needed to refresh my memory of the whole Paula Jones “scam” as you call it. Boy, must have been one heck of a scam since Bill paid Paula $850,000 in cash, agreed to not deny nor confirm the events in the hotel room, committed perjury during the lawsuit, had his law license suspended and was impeached. All over a scam? And this coming from a Yale law grad, a law professor and an attorney general. That must have been one heck of a scam.
