Maverick Utahn Trying to Stop Republican Bleeding

It’s true, the GOP’s little tent is shrinking and Utah’s ONLY Republican Maverick Mike Ridgway is trying to save it.

Already limited to White men (predominantly pink like Carl Wimmer actually), their obedient wives and the occasional token ‘other,’  the lil’ tent continues to shrink in the awful heat.
As with any cult, the biggest threat always comes from competing cults; Libertarian, Constitution, Tea People what have you. Mike’s idea is:

“instant runoff voting” system that…could prevent third-party candidates from “spoiling” elections. If no candidate receives a majority, the candidate with the fewest votes is eliminated. Voters who had supported that eliminated candidate would then have their “second-choice” votes given to remaining candidates to help one of them achieve a majority. (SL Trib)

Mr. Ridgway offers the following example:

Senate candidates who lost to Democrats

Showing those Republican Senate candidates who lost to Democrats in races where the Democratic candidate got less than a majority of the vote."

Just like Michele Bachmann and Carl Wimmer, Mike Ridgway simply doesn’t get it.  The members (voters) for the spoiler (3rd party) cults hate the Republican cult SO MUCH, they would vote for Democrat second and eat glass before EVER voting for the traitor.

Go Brandon ‘Pretty Boy’ Beckham!  You keep that cult in line.

Actually, I can’t figure out if Brandon Beckham is trying to keep the main cult in line, or starting his own.  If anyone who hasn’t been blocked from him on Facebook knows, please let me know.

PS: Mike Ridgway has agreed to become a OneUtah author.

From the evidence indicated by the chart those of us who would like to see more Democrats in elected position in and from Utah, this (IRV) would be a good thing.

I await anxiously for Mikes first post.

Carl Wimmer and anyone else can play whatever games they want, simple demographic changes will make the entire sherod pointless in 5-10years, and IRV may cut an entirely different way from what their thinking.

Their are proly a number of seats that under IRV would be winnable by the complete loon paries(tea party, constitution party, libertarian party, objectivist party?!?). I do have to wonder who those seats would caucus with(if anyone), I personally would get a giant kick out of a minority ran democratic legislature because the republican smaller minority and loon parties can’t get along even if the republicans and minority loon parties even tho they hold more seats in arrogate.

I do wonder tho, if the rebs no longer had to attempt catering to the loons do to IRV would that move them to the left any?

Gee, Cliff, that’s not exactly the introduction to your readers that I was expecting.

But thanks for adding me as an author all the same.

Unbecoming pontificating on the personalities involved in explaining the idea instead of the merits of the system itself?

Actually, the best benefit of all is that it would stop people from voting for the “lesser of two evils” and start voting for “the candidate they really like”.

And it would be nice to see, for once, elections that are won by a majority tally instead of a plurality vote.

Don’t plan on anything else from Cliff. Did he entertain you Mike with some fantastic notion that your presentation here would be fair and balanced? Welcome to Fochs News of the Looney Left Mike…1U.

While Utah Republicans stare down one another in the circular firing squad, the real world is burning. I have no mercy for these lunatics.

Correct Glenn (BurnBarrel); We are fair and balanced from the looney left and right if they dare.

I would contend that by now after continual bi-partisan war, theft and screw ups there is no worth in claiming who is right. Your African Prince has hung you all out to dry as predicted.

Tend to the meadow over there in the Democrat Party when talking about circular firing squads. Never has there been such political power squandered as with this administration and it’s camp followers. Beware the Ravens and Crows, never has there such a bunch of bumblers still thinking they have it right.

Can anyone see the chart above. I haven’t been able to yet using both Chrome and IE.

Chart Fixed. I had to use a .jpg. No idea why.

Wow, Cliff Lyon could be the stupidest fucking idiot I’ve seen. There are so many idiots out there who think they are right, but Cliff trumps them all. Who the fuck is he? He is obivously not educated. I can’t seem to find one fact of figure to back up any one of his claim. I can’t believe he believes this verbal diarrhea. I am not a republican, and this guy who is clearly a bigot, gives all the rest of us a bad name. Wow, go to hell Cliff, you don’t matter.

Sounds like Donna Green has some issues.

I hope she can find the help she requires.
