Learn Our History: How Bush Killed Osama bin Laden

Mike Huckabee’s “Learn Our History” series of cartoons continues to re-write American history according to right-wing mythology. The 9/11 edition contains nothing about the reason America got attacked by al-Qaeda terrorists, except that the bad guys were “anti-American.” (They speak English to eliminate the need for subtitles). The cartoon is silent on the warnings before the 9/11 attacks that the Bush administration ignored. It extols the virtues of the USA PATRIOT Act (which genuine conservatives can’t stand). Plus a lot of praise for the Department of Homeland Security, a lot of praise for Israel and the clear implication that President George W. Bush was responsible for the death of Osama bin Laden. The reason why we’re dropping bombs on children in Afghanistan? So they are allowed to fly kites, if they survive! All in all, a triumph of historical scholarship, winger-style.

UPDATE: Huckabee compares his 9/11 cartoon to ‘Schindler’s List’

the reason America got attacked by al-Qaeda terrorists

The reason? You mean just like the “reason” some women get raped, some black people got lynched, some Norwegian children got murdered…? You mean just like those “reasons”?

Unless you understand what the enemy’s aim is in war, how do you know you’re not helping the enemy?

  3. #3 by cav on August 5, 2011 - 8:12 am

See Walt Kelly: “We have met the enemy, and he is us”. Or something of the sort.

  4. #4 by brewski on August 5, 2011 - 9:13 am

Yes, we need to understand the “reasons” why some men rape so we can tell women to stop giving some men a “reason” to rape.

The reasons we bomb are more than clear: Considering trillions have been used to bomb Iraqi wedding parties in the name of reducing terrorism, it becomes apparent that the deaths of the wedding parties was all about preventing the births of that many more little terror babies.

And there are those among us that suggest this anti terrorism related activities on the part of the government that need to be eliminated.

Pshaa to that type of ‘thinking’.

Producing propaganda cartoons for children seems like a very strange business to be in. I don’t see how children are going to be taken in by this junk. Children are not stupid and they will be angry when they eventually figure out that somebody is trying to scam them.

Look at the situation today and tell me that brainwashing kids doesn’t work.

    “When an opponent declares,
‘I will not come over to your side.’
I calmly say, ‘Your child belongs to us already…
What are you? You will pass on.
    Your descendants, however,
now stand in the new camp.
In a short time they will know nothing
    else but this new community.’”

    Who said it?

    Adolph Hitler.

He used the public schools to do it. An ostensible “socialist” who used belief in that vehicle to propel him into power. Ideology is weak against those with a plan to rule, who are ruthless.

    Hadn’t heard this:

Forget the cover story of waterboarding-leads-to-courier-leads-to bin Laden. Sources in the intelligence community tell me that after years of trying and one bureaucratically insane near-miss in Yemen, the US government killed OBL because a Pakistani intelligence officer came forward to collect the approximately $25 million reward from the State Department’s Rewards for Justice program.

    The informant was a walk-in.

The ISI officer came forward to claim the substantial reward and to broker US citizenship for his family.

Appeals court rules Rumsfeld can be held liable for torture of U.S. civilians I haven’t seen Huckabee’s video, but I’m willing to be this isn’t in it.

Anybody heard anything about that Rupert Murdoch guy lately?

Wonder how long it’s going to take for this latest Rumsfeld story to disappear from the MSM…

Oh, wait; it was never on the MSM.

    This just in my mailbox.

Always great to see Greg Palast on the trail of something. In this case it’s sleeze journalism and it’s personal. Maybe Murdoch and the rest are in trouble after all. Paul McCartney has enough cash to cause some trouble too.

Not really off topic either, huh?

If by now you haven’t figured out that the FALSE FLAG/INSIDE JOB of 9/11 was the work of Israel, the WH and elements of the CIA; FBI and the Pentagon, then I feel sorry for your children.

If BL was behind 9/11, then why wasn’t he tried ‘In absentia,’ a legal term for putting a defendant on trial who isn’t available?

It’s been done many times before by the DOJ, so why not with BL?

Because, as the FBI admitted, they DIDN’T have the evidence.

Former President Bush has now come forward to claim credit for killing Osama bin Laden.

The reality, of course, is that Bush’s attempts to capture or kill bin Laden were huge failures. While it’s been well documented that the Bush administration missed an opportunity to get bin Laden in Tora Bora in 2001, Bush himself subsequently stated publicly that he wasn’t spending much time thinking about getting him. “I truly am not that concerned about him. I am deeply concerned about Iraq,” Bush said in 2002, “I really just don’t spend that much time on him, to be honest with you.” Bush told reporters in 2006 that hunting the al Qaeda leader was “not a top priority use of American resources.”

And in 2005, Bush shut down the CIA’s unit dedicated to finding bin Laden in order to shift resources to Iraq.

Our “leaders” and candidates are patting each other on the back for killing people. Bush killed hundreds as governor of Texas and turned America into a torture nation.

When the subject of helping people comes up, nothing is said except that they’re keeping us safe by killing people.

Get lost, chimpy! The leaders who failed to impeach these war criminals can get lost too.

Real Uhmericans do do months of jaw dropping, delaying, frapping and accusations before letting the GOP vote it all down however. Not much of which leads to understanding. But there’s stagnation or even retreat, and terror enough to put smiles on the faces of all the real power mongers.
