Part here we go again in an ongoing series of things that make me face-palm.
On Monday, Mitt Romney offered a remedy to the problem that caused his wife’s airplane to land prematurely last week: Allow passengers to roll down the airplane windows.
Ann Romney’s plane was grounded Friday after the main cabin filled with smoke. The small electrical fire caused no injuries, but apparently did cause the Presidential candidate to forget the dangers of altitude.
“When you have a fire in an aircraft, there’s no place to go, exactly,” he told the LA Times. “And you can’t find any oxygen from outside the aircraft to get in the aircraft, because the windows don’t open. I don’t know why they don’t do that. It’s a real problem.”

And why don’t submarines have screen doors?

The problem is that rolling the windows down, putting screen doors on subs, and cutting taxes for people making millions in order to improve the economy all make exactly the same amount of sense. But only two of the three are treated like jokes.

I have a patent on roll-down airplane windows.
Anyone have Baine’s number?

Wow, he really did say that.

Mitt Romney Calls USA a ‘Foreign Country’ on His Tax Return

Now you’re just being a hack.
#7 by Richard Warnick on September 24, 2012 - 8:40 pm
And what would Limbaugh and Faux News have said if that mistake was on Obama’s tax return?
#8 by brewski on September 24, 2012 - 8:59 pm
I don’t care what they would have said. Are you equating yourself to Rush and Fox?

No, because I don’t claim it’s anything more than a simple mistake, however ironic. The irony is that Willard’s superpatriot pose is a bit much for someone who keeps his money offshore in Switzerland and the Cayman Islands.
At least he had to put his real name on the tax form.

Richard:
Did you get the submarines with screen doors joke off twitter, or did twitter get it from you?
That’s funny!
#11 by Richard Warnick on September 25, 2012 - 5:11 pm
It’s just a very old joke that’s been around longer than any of us.
What gets me is Willard seemed genuinely ignorant about why you can’t open the windows in a jet airplane.

An old joke with new life under Klieg lights.
The other joke about Romney’s ignorance I found funny was a twitter that advised him to get to an emergency room as soon as he got sucked out the window.
Better have a photo I.D.

I think Willard only seemed genuinely ignorant, but is, in fact a real ‘card’, and a potentially great statesman.
If only he could escape the clutches of the Rove, Adelson, ‘Ryan axi$ – Again…unlikely.
