Only In Utah!

Gary Herbert gets his way, one way or the other. 🙁

If you can’t pass a bill, appointed a shill.

I just hate it when my beloved state is used as a model for corruption.

Transparency is non-existent in my home state. Whether it’s your voting system or your right to know what’s happening in the legislature, it’s no longer your right to know. And it hasn’t been for a long, long time.

Just pledge allegiance and shut up!

No public hearing, secrecy, business as usual. Why do they always identify Holly Richardson as a “blogger” when all she ever does on her blog is copy and paste GOP partisan tripe? She never has anything original to say.

I’ve been to a couple of these hearings before the State Records Committee, and actually filmed the proceedings.

The first one involved Bruce Funk trying to get some recordings that were made in closed door meetings when they were coming down on him for letting a computer scientist look into our suspicious new computer system.

The second one was when Kathy Dopp, who had run for office, was trying to get access to the computer records of her election.

Something I thought was really strange is that there was actually an unseen person who was interacting with hearings panel from a speaker in the ceiling at one point.

Both hearings seemed to be steered toward denying the records being released.
