The Modern Conservative Movement Has Become a Racket. Republican Voters Must Be Sanctioned.

When Frank Rich agrees with Bill Kristol, you KNOW there HAS TO BE some substantive truth telling going on.

In the most recent issue of the The Weekly Standard, conservative standard setter Bill Kristol, says about the GOP, “One is reminded of Eric Hoffer’s remark, “Every great cause begins as a movement, becomes a business, and eventually degenerates into a racket.” It may be that major parts of American conservatism have become such a racket…”

This discussion encapsulates what I believe with be the most common thesis of the post-game analysis of what happened to the GOP in the decades to come. The 2012 campaign saw a GOP not only surrender all standards for decency and honesty but they eventually fell in line and applauded blatant deliberate deception.

Mitt Romney’s campaign is best described in simple terms as a string of lies. The hypocrisy required by the average republican to support Romney’s candidacy in spite of the blatant, unabashed deception at the expense of ANY vestige of the concept of truth, demands one consider that today’s Republican voter is so devoid of integrity that some sort of sanction is appropriate.

What good can possibly come from the further participation of Republicans in the good governance of this great democracy? It is time to disenfranchise Republican party members.

I think it is time to take away their guns and pack them off to the FEMA detention camps Obama is building all over the country.

Cliff, you’re no journalist and certainly don’t understand how to research a story. Your writing is nonsensical and at time fantastical. Your target audience is apparently those already on the socialist bandwagon and too lazy to do their own research and draw their own conclusions. I’m astounded by liberal socialist ranting on this site. Should I be surprised given the “Occupy” schtick on the banner? Rather than fly the colors of self imposed old gay exile in Zion why not just move to California or Vermont where you’ll fit right in? FEMA camps? The illegal alien you elected built those for you since you and similar social crusaders are so inclined to support phony subsidies to the ‘needy’. You want my guns? Come and get them.

Steve Benen documented 917 Romney campaign lies beginning in January 2012. That’s surely a record.

But the right isn’t even slowing down now. I heard Mike Huckabee on the radio today claiming that “welfare recipients” get paid the equivalent of $30 an hour for not working. A variation on the “lucky duckies” canard, taking it to the next level.

This morning on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” there was general agreement around the millionaire table that most workers in Michigan are in favor of the so-called “right to work” law. But only 6 percent of the people in Michigan are for it.

Considering the sheer stupidity of this comment, Im surprised you haven’t shot yourself thinking your gun was a pez dispenser. Where to even begin with your fucktarded statement is the real challenge. If you want to talk about research, then maybe we could start with the constant change of Romney’s opinions even within debate parameters, the adoption of policies that never worked, the expectation of victory, despite a statistician saying otherwise or the constant fighting of Obama despite the fact that their seats are in danger when Obama’s seat is not, then you are clearly supporting a party of morons. Corruption isn’t what makes that party dangerous. If that were the case, then the Democrats would be an even bigger threat than the GOP. What truly makes the republicans dangerous is their rampant stupidity and your blind support for that said stupidity.

Which is it: Bill or William Kristol?

Contemporary liberalism is committed to leading from behind, with a light footprint. Isn’t it the historic task of American conservatism to shape an America that will lead again from the front, with a stride worthy of a great nation? Isn’t it the task of conservatism to restore American leadership so that friends of freedom around the world, Seeing, shall take heart again, in an America that seeks to leave behind us / Footprints on the sand of time?

I have ONE name, It’s Larry, never Lawrence.

Contemporary liberalism is committed to leading from behind

It’s an old trick. First say you’re agreeing with the opposition and then lay into them.

If I lost an election by this much and untold more, I wouldn’t be saying they were leading from behind, because I don’t lie.

Couple of things Mr. Arabia (Glenn Hoefer),

    1. I had a Black roommate Sophomore year at UVM.

    2. I am not a Baby Boomer (1962)

    3. I can support any factual claims with credentialed sources.

    4. Whatever I am doing, is clearly working quite well as I have angered you.

As for your personal accusations, I will be adding your name the the list of candidates for FEMA detention camps.

Because you are so indoctrinated into a ‘liberal’ mindset my comment has confounded you. Rather than admit your own ignorance you come off indignant and start calling names. It remains so easy to throw ‘liberals’ off their game with a few simple true statements, it never ceases to amaze me how easy it is to blow their mind.

I’ve placed liberal in quotes because most ‘liberals’ aren’t liberally minded. Rather, they stick to their poorly conceived positions regardless what new facts are presented. Nathan has fallen into the trap. His comment again brings up the false notion propped up by the Left that Romney’s ‘flip-flopping’ is a negative. At times changing ones stand on an issue is a negative, but in the case of pro-choice vs. pro-life it is not. If Nathan had taken the time to do some research outside of Left-leaning publications he might have come across Romney’s detailed explanation of why he decided to change his stance on various issues to include a move to pro-life. The ability to process new information and thereby change ones opinion is a sign of intelligence and is in fact a mark of liberalism in it’s true sense. Most ‘liberals’ today are entrenched sycophants who call foul on any new information which threatens their entrenched thinking.

Cliff’s drivel tends to be my morning comedy break. How may one take him seriously when he speaks of hobbits in relation to the Right’s support of Israel? He’s lost all credibility. In that instance he thought to educate me as to why Israel does not require US support. Given my education and background this would be analogous to my attempting to explain how to program a Mac. He was/is outside his league but rather than admit defeat he dug in, a very non-liberal stance. He tried to throw some links out supporting his position which only served to uncover his own callus ignorance on the topic. Cliff would be well served to stay in the shallow end regarding such matters.

He brought up FEMA camps again. I thought only the ultra-right believed in such conspiracy theories? Again, Cliff swims out in deep water and finds himself once again over his head. No, exercise of my Second Amendment rights will keep me out of any detention camp. Throwing out silly threats such as that only cause you to lose more credibility. However, it does make good comedy. Thanks for that at least.

Let’s change the topic to our drone murder terrorist president, and the fact that the Michigan legislature yesterday voted to nullify the NDAA that obama insists on that has been declared unconstitutional

It became official at about 3 p.m.

Elizabeth Warren will be on the Banking Committee in January, saying:

…Of course, fighting for the middle class means more than talk or strongly worded blog posts. It means across-the-board, consistent accountability for anyone who breaks the law — no matter where they work or who their friends are. And that’s what we’re going to work hard to accomplish.

She wants you to thank Harry Reid. There’s a link in her article to do that.
