The fact our president is a drone murder terrorist and was so re-elected has plenty to do with school shootings, when murder is acceptable from your president, then you will surely have plenty of copycat killing, as well no one talks about the fact that the SSRI’s are making people go completely insane, and in Colorado and here the evidence isn’t being talked about, probably because half the country is drugged up on the shit

  2. #2 by schlepp bergan on December 16, 2012 - 4:09 am

No way out for the drone murder terrorist obama, he has killed Americans with drones, and now even Carlos Santana names him a murderer, must be great shilling for a murderer cliff, and you have no ‘scuses

Best nazis were always jews cliff, you do know that, don’t you?

Thanks for this list, Cliff. It is an excellent reference for my own letter-writng and calling. These are things that could really make a difference.

  4. #4 by brewski on December 16, 2012 - 6:48 am

I agree with this list too.

It should be noted that none of them would have prevented the Sand Hook tragedy.

Too many Americans consider Sparta to be the ideal state of its politics, and violence is considered to be the best possible way to resolve conflicts.

That attitude permeates all the way to the top, to the President’s “kill lists,” and to the Pentagon’s willingness to flatten anything they don’t like.

    Fix that.

I think a discussion on SSRI’s for the mentally ill is a better conversation to have, in 1964 there were few gun laws, guns were everywhere, yet nothing like Newtown had yet happened, what changed?

Watch this, certainly no coincidence, is it?

Let’s add restoration of the federal assault weapons ban. That would keep assault rifles out of the hands of would-be mass murderers.

  8. #8 by schlepp bergan on December 16, 2012 - 10:47 am

That is stupid Richard, like saying let’s do anything maybe it will get better, the problems is psychos and people with major mental problems on SSRI’s

The Conn psycho did his job with pistols

All the victims of the Connecticut school shooting were killed up close by multiple rifle shots, the medical examiner said. The shooter used a Bushmaster (civilian equivalent of M-4 military assault rifle).

Also, the shooter was using high-capacity magazines. Authorities said they found multiple 30-round magazines and hundreds of unused bullets at the school, which enrolled about 670 students.

“There was a lot of ammo, a lot of clips,” said state police Lt. Paul Vance. “Certainly a lot of lives were potentially saved.”

I’m not sure why I released comments by a “man” using half my name, but I did.

A law putting liability for stolen guns on the owner when the guns are not properly secured, may have stopped this event.

Require all gun owners own a locking safe that is bolted to the floor for any militia grade weapon, assault rifles, smg’s, high powered rifles, any weapon with automatic or semi-automatic fire.

Start a gun locker program, provide funds to States for their cities to run facilities where guns can be stored for their owners, these could be ran by the cities local police or private gunshop owners whatever. This could be low cost alternative to purchase of a safe.

Any gun owner who uses neither would be in violation of the law, and liable for any illegal use of their weapons by anyone, including thieves.

A great number of these mass shootings, have been by people who have stolen weapons from their parents, or neighbors. A good dose of liability would go a long way.

Last night in Roy, a guy got drunk and shot his wife six times. Check out his weapon of choice.

  14. #14 by brewski on December 17, 2012 - 9:38 am

You’re right. Violence and killing needs to stop.

If I wanted to go off topic, I could point out that the U.S. government kills small children in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen etc. But I’m going to stay on topic!

Let’s get the assault weapons ban re-instated, along with a ban on high-capacity magazines that hold more than 10 rounds.

  16. #16 by brewski on December 17, 2012 - 11:07 am

    Works for me.

I was just pointing out the irony of the Left’s apparent concern for the lives of innocents and their total callousness and disregard for the murder of unborn babies. Especially considering the scale.

  17. #17 by Richard Warnick on December 17, 2012 - 11:17 am

    brewski–

Your definition of “baby” is incorrect. There is no such thing as an “unborn baby.”

Abortion is a legal medical procedure.

Now can we discuss re-regulation of assault rifles?

  18. #18 by brewski on December 17, 2012 - 11:21 am

So you are totally fine with getting an abortion 1 minute before full term delivery?

I have never heard any pregnant woman say “oh, I just felt my fetus kick”

  19. #19 by Richard Warnick on December 17, 2012 - 11:33 am

Re-regulate assault rifles. Ban large-capacity magazines. Write your congressional representatives.

  20. #20 by brewski on December 17, 2012 - 11:47 am

Thank you for illustrating so horrifically the Left’s total callousness and disregard for the murder of unborn babies.

  21. #21 by Richard Warnick on December 17, 2012 - 12:12 pm

This post is about gun laws, not abortion laws.

  22. #22 by brewski on December 17, 2012 - 12:45 pm

    Thank you for your confession.

The NRA’s Wayne LaPierre predicted that if President Obama won re-election, everything that “gun owners across America have fought to achieve over the past three decades could be lost.”

Let’s make that prediction a reality!

  24. #24 by Richard Warnick on December 17, 2012 - 1:17 pm

On AlterNet, Steve Kornacki points out that:

    (1) Even though Democrats have been in a defensive crouch for a decade, the gun lobby and right-wingers continue to accuse them of having a radical anti-gun agenda.

    (2) Democrats have demonstrated they can win elections without the pro-gun vote.

It’s time for President Obama to get serious, and keep his promise to re-instate the assault weapon ban.

  25. #25 by schlepp bergan on December 17, 2012 - 3:56 pm

    Never going to happen

  26. #26 by Larry Bergan on December 19, 2012 - 4:36 pm

    Is going to happen; schlepp/noname.
