The Victims of Sandy Hook

Sandy Hook Victims
This list shakes me to the very core of my being.  The children were all 6 and 7 years old.  I am incapable of grasping how a person could shoot these tiny ones — and at close range.

I find it unfathomable that gun advocates continue to deny that change is needed. I’m angry that my country has the highest rate of gun ownership in the world–more than double the rate of the next nearest country–and yet, gun advocates want us to believe that MORE gun ownership is the solution. Our rate of murders by gun is far above any other country in the world. We have a sick form of gun worship here tied to the gun lobby and a fraudulent interpretation of the Constitution.

It’s sick! It’s INSANE. It has to stop. The people who own guns are not reasonable people and do not want to be part of the solution. So be it. Let’s do it without them. I do not believe we should just throw up our hands in despair and say there is nothing we can do. There’s plenty we can do. And it can start with debunking the ridiculous idea that the Constitution says that no gun of any type should be banned from any person for any reason.

Here is something that should be investigated as a cause of the senseless violence:

In terms of the politics, the NRA (in their own words) went “all in” to prevent President Obama’s re-election. If elections have consequences, they deserve to be paid back.

“We’re going to have to come together and take meaningful action to prevent more tragedies like this, regardless of the politics,” the President has said. Can he deliver on that promise? He ought to tell Dems not to worry about the NRA. This year they spent $18 million on the election, and achieved little.

    Media Matters reports:

[T]he NRA had an abysmal track record for the 2012 elections. Besides failing to achieve its primary goal to defeat President Obama, the NRA backed the losing candidate in six out of seven Senate races where it spent more than $100,000. Over two-thirds of incumbent House members who lost re-election bids were endorsed by the NRA.

In polls going back to 1999, a majority of Americans say they want stricter firearms laws. Specifically, they favor the restoration of the assault weapons ban, gun registration, banning magazines that hold more than 10 rounds, and background checks with no exceptions.

Which is more dangerous? A homicidal nut on pills, or a homicidal nut on pills wielding an assault rifle with a high-capacity magazine?

Interesting to note that the NRA has taken down both its Twitter and Facebook accounts at the moment. The cowards can’t face the backlash of their own policies.

This time, I think the media are refusing to defend so-called gun rights vs. the deaths of small children. The NRA bigs have got to be worried.

Ted Nugent was probably weighing in and they decided it didn’t look good.

Here’s Terrible Ted, no one is worried

The Discovery Channel is canceling Ted Nugent’s gun show. What will we do now?

Did they let Ted Nugent on a local PBS outlet?

I hope Big Bird wasn’t around, unless he wants his head blown off. Ted has done everything he says he would blow others up for. He’s not just a hypocrite, he is a danger to everybody around him.
