Why I’m Not Going to Visit the 9/11 Museum

I’m big on history, and that means we remember both the good and the bad stuff that happens in the world. OTOH I have never been to the Holocaust Museum, and probably won’t ever go. The 9/11 Museum that opens this week in New York has already been added to my list of places to avoid. It’s not just the $24 admission fee. Why did they think it was a good idea to plop a gift shop and a cafe literally on top of a repository that contains 8,000 unidentified body parts from victims of the terrorist attacks? A monument would have been enough. A museum (which includes President George W. Bush’s bullhorn*) is pushing it. A store that sells 9/11 coffee mugs and t-shirts is too much.

On Think Progress, Jessica Goldstein makes the case for the gift shop, which in her mind amounts to: “every other museum has one.”

[* I hope the museum also prominently displays the secret memo Bush didn’t bother to read— the one that warned, “Bin Ladin Determined To Strike in US.”]

Sort of like the report titled:

“Libya: Terrorists Now Targeting U.S. and Western Interests”

    • #2 by Richard Warnick on May 20, 2014 - 6:41 pm

The report you didn’t link to was a Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) report, not a President’s Daily Brief (PDB). It referred to the situation in Libya, not to U.S. national security.

Remember that the same Republicans who backed FIVE Benghazi investigations resisted ANY inquiry into the worst terrorist attack in world history, on the Bush administration’s watch.

Right-wingers can espouse their views without opposition, because freedom.

Left-wingers must always be even-handed, because because.

For example, see this long forgotten, jaw-dropping event in Bush’s first year that would have destroyed any Democrat… in the spring of 2001 (4 months before 9.11) the Bush administration gave the Taliban a “gift” of $43 million.
Robert Scheer wrote about it in The Nation in May 2001 (but the “liberal media” as always ignored it in order to protect the Bush administration)

Imagine Obama giving $43 million to the Taliban, then sat back as 3000 Americans were murdered, then did nothing for 7+ years to get Osama bin Laden.
BUT! Let’s find out what REALLY happened in BENGHAZI!!!!

    • #4 by Larry Bergan on May 21, 2014 - 7:40 pm

I don’t know much about the “big lies” the Nazi’s were telling, but I’ll bet you they at least seemed to make sense.

American fascists tell big lies, and then stick with them, no matter how ridiculous they are. This pattern has been going on for a long long time now. Benghazi doesn’t have a leg to stand on, in fact they’ve both been amputated, but you know we’re going to spend more money then we spent trying to uncover what happened on 911.

If you needed any more proof that this is a derivative batshit base crazy nation with gutter based people in control…this would be the cherry atop the sundae.

Don’t need to imagine that obama has handed out millions and provided weapons to the Maidan terrorists in Ukraine, because everyone but most of dumbass America already knows this.

Yep, you got it, under obama’s leadership we are funding the Nazis after toppling a corrupt but legitimately elected government! The Maidan are the Ukrainians who fought with the Nazis against stalin’s Russia in WW2. Thugs and murderers…how very Chicago of him.

Obama, bush’s fourth term, his forebears did business with Nazis, so more things change…um, the more they don’t.

    • #7 by Richard Warnick on May 21, 2014 - 1:21 pm

Got a link? It would be nice to know where you get your information.

“The Maidan are the Ukrainians who fought with the Nazis against stalin’s Russia in WW2.” They must be, like, 90 years old now.

  5. #8 by Anonymous on May 21, 2014 - 3:29 pm

The movement remains you nitwit. Just like neo Nazis here, very much like the neocons as well.

Educate yourself. Stop listening to US media, NPR, Fox, MSNBC, all of it. US media collusion in this lawlessness would make Goebbels proud.

Maidan in WW2 and the link to today’s Ukraine.

Wake up, or remain the most ignorant people on the planet.

    • #9 by Richard Warnick on May 21, 2014 - 6:24 pm

You wrote that “Obama has handed out millions and provided weapons,” yet the articles you linked to make no such claim.

The US supported Hitler in his war with the Soviet Union until Hitler became far too successful, and openly declared that he would not create money unless work was done or value created.

At this point Germany becomes the enemy of the London and US banking cartel, who saw honest money as the greatest threat to their stranglehold on the western economies. In other words, if you cannot make money out of thin air, then it becomes impossible to become banking parasites on the backs of working people and the fiat money system.

Nothing changed since then, same scam, same story no matter which puppet has their hands on the wheel.

Hitler and then Germany had to be stopped from spreading the concept via its military success…esoteric, but a very true reason we supported Nazis at the start, and made of them mortal enemies when they threatened the counterfeit economies of the west.

In the world of realpolitik, you can be sure we will fund Nazis, even al queda, as the US has in Syria, if it serves our interests, and abandon them just the same. The public rarely gets it, and that too, serves the elites who own the American farm, and want me he whole world if they can pull it off.

    • #11 by Richard Warnick on May 21, 2014 - 6:25 pm

Not only esoteric, but false. What is your source?

  7. #12 by Anonymous on May 21, 2014 - 3:52 pm

Damn querty..that is ….and want the whole world if they can pull it off.

  8. #13 by Anonymous on May 21, 2014 - 6:37 pm

Sure isn’t false, if you have spoonfed American pablum you will have no bearing, what I described is common knowledge in European history.

Do actually imagine the US government has operated any different then, as it does now? We and Britain had no problem with hitler while he was whacking Russians, we sure didn’t have the sand to do it.

    • #14 by Richard Warnick on May 22, 2014 - 7:24 am

How can your theory of WW II explain the fact that Britain declared war on Germany in September 1939, but Germany didn’t invade the Soviet Union until June 1941?

  9. #15 by Anonymous on May 21, 2014 - 6:52 pm

Do you somehow deny that McCain didn’t meet with these thug usurpers weeks before the events in Ukraine? On obamas behalf, as he is entirely onboard although the fiasco it has all become has left egg on his face….again.

I will provide a link when I can dig it up, until then try to keep in mind HOW the US government has been operating, non existent WMD for Iraq, NSA spying and criminal violations of her own laws with impunity. There is little doubt at least for the rest of the world that fuckstick America under obama has been stirring this pot.

He’s getting his ass kicked by the way, might be time to get that TV chef guy to save his bacon, he has been so outplayed it’s been laughable.

Source not yet, but I have every confidence someone will spill the beans on this criminal administration.

    • #16 by Richard Warnick on May 22, 2014 - 7:27 am

You really believe McCain is working on behalf of the Obama administration? Really?

Good luck in your hunt for links!

    Why Putin? Why Hitler? http://www.intrepidreport.com/archives/13074

Apparently some part of my comment has been marked as spam. Of course it had to do with Victoria Nuland’s reflection on our Ukraine ‘investment’. Google it.

  11. #18 by Anonymous on May 22, 2014 - 4:09 pm

You would have be daft to think there is any disagreement between any of the warmongers at this point..any means necessary seems to be the call, whether its obama or mc nutjob. All part of the CFR plans for Russia, in that they are all working towards the same goal.

The proof will come to be known and I have read of it, and cannot recover the article, as well it seems to have been purged.

That would fit NSA guidelines for covering up truth and then lying their ass off to the American people and everyone else within earshot.

    Obama’s a

Tell me Richard, the sponsoring of alqueda terrorists in both Libya and Syria by obama doesn’t give you a moments pause about what we are doing in the Ukraine.?

Very trusting of you, like the run up to Iraq in principle is how I see your faith in the machinations of US foreign policy, no matter which brand of cretin is driving the bus.

  13. #20 by Anonymous on May 22, 2014 - 4:49 pm

Excellent article cav, spot on. As said before after 15 years of abject lying by the US government over our actions in foreign policy you would have to be daft to believe obama’s current narrative concerning the Ukraine.

Never mind that these lies have led to mass murder and the destruction of sovereign nations.

“Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice..we won’t get fooled again” gwb. Laugh all you want, but it is hardly funny by now.

  14. #21 by Richard Warnick on May 22, 2014 - 9:02 pm

I’m amazed by your ability to see a vast, well-organized conspiracy where there exists only chaos and an administration just trying to keep up with events.

  15. #22 by Anonymous on May 22, 2014 - 9:09 pm

Here is your link Richard, this article claims the US has dumped some 5 billion into the Ukraine, and given that Maidan terrorists now control the government after toppling the legitimate government it is pretty safe to say that Nazi Maiden have that money and the fruits from it. I.e weapons they could purchase with our money.

The effort by mccain before the coup had the full knowledge of nuland and obama as well. Unless he is just a plain idiot. The US support for this illicit coup is an entirely bipartisan effort..To imagine it isn’t ignores the facts, and is quite naive.

It also proves point of the why Putin is about kicking obama’s ass.

    • #23 by Richard Warnick on May 23, 2014 - 7:32 am

There is no support for your contention that “Obama has handed out millions and provided weapons to the Maidan terrorists in Ukraine.” Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Thomas O. Melia:

Since 2009 when President Obama took office, the U.S. Government has provided over $184 million in Governing Justly and Democratically (GJD) assistance to Ukraine. This includes democracy programs managed by USAID and the State Department, and exchange programs managed by the State Department and the Open World Leadership Center.

A key element of the Strategic Partnership’s Charter to strengthen Ukraine’s democracy is the Political Dialogue / Rule of Law Working Group, which brings together American and Ukrainian officials to exchange ideas about best practices, the Ukrainian government’s reform efforts, and about problems areas, such as corruption, which has stunted Ukraine’s economic and social development.

Not $5 billion from the Obama administration, that’s the total since the end of the Cold War. The Obama administration provided assistance to encourage democracy and the rule of law – not to fund a coup, and not to help “terrorists.” No weapons have been provided to anyone in Ukraine by the USA as far as we know.

If you said that rogue neocons like Senator McCain and Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland might have been involved in encouraging a coup in the Ukraine, I would agree that they are suspect – although we lack evidence.

  16. #24 by Anonymous on May 22, 2014 - 11:05 pm

Ah my friend your assumptive reasoning is a bit lacking. It is a long standing plan, CFR, under Brzezinski’s direction among others.

Under obama’s incompetent direction this is an utterly failed conspiracy. As for chaos it is entirely purposeful, just engaged under false assumptions against a man who has far more on the ball than the collection of murderous clowning idiots who are having their uselessness blow straight up in their face.

    Tis’ a sight to see..

  17. #25 by Anonymous on May 23, 2014 - 10:17 am

Now you are being obtuse. This set up has been decided on before obama came to power, obama approving the !ost recent forms of bribery.

We filled Ukraine with money before the events, and now that Nazi Maidan terrorists are in control they have our money, and obama and the ruling elite have absolutely no problem with it. We have become led by Nazi supporter gutter trash. It’s such a proud moment for us..right?

So spare us your hair splitting, after the same tactics in Libya, Iraq, Syria you either are stupid or think people who have eyes to see are, either way your protestations are meaningless to the cold blooded policies this failed American state, powered only by goons, guns, and fiat money.

The end of it all isn’t going to be pretty, whether you support the democrat gutter trash, or the GOP version.

  18. #27 by Anonymous on May 23, 2014 - 10:19 am

Besides, I claimed millions, and gutter trash obama has at least over a million in, so millions then. You really seem to have a need to believe what virtually no one does. Why?

    • #28 by Richard Warnick on May 23, 2014 - 10:56 am

You said the money went to “terrorists.” It did not. It went to the Ukrainian government.

  19. #29 by Anonymous on May 23, 2014 - 10:22 am

Lack evidence? You don’t need Clarence Darrow to figure it out, or Sherlock Holmes if you don’t know who is that is.

With all due respect your attempts to sanitize what’s going on is weak at best, imbecilic on the nether end.

You even say 184 million since obama is president, I’m so sure the Nazi terrorist Maidan are using our monies for flowers and lollipops.

Its rather embarrassing if this is the naivte’ of people in the US concerning the machination of CFR driven realpolitik.

      BBC Kiev correspondent David Stern:

Euromaidan officials are not fascists, nor do fascists dominate the movement.

  20. #31 by Anonymous on May 24, 2014 - 12:44 am

Yeah, as if the BBC can be relied upon any more for information than fox to tell any truth. The whole organization is chock full of hacks who serve the very same interests as our own gutter trash media.

Try to be relevant to the truth that is staring you in the face.

    • #32 by Richard Warnick on May 24, 2014 - 11:12 am

There is reality, and then there is Glenn’s “truth” unsupported by facts.

  21. #33 by Anonymous on May 24, 2014 - 11:30 pm

Don’t worry, it’ll all come out in time, much like Snowden’s truth.

Consider that the bulk of crap you report from your pablum sources has been most all rebuked by actual truth as time goes by.

Seems you simply play the fool, report the crap in the daily news as some gospel til doh! We find out later it’s all a lie. Being a product of a following “authority” and so conditioned you really don’t have the free choice of a perceptive mind, rather falling to the easy of believing what you are told.

Ever wonder what cognitive dissonance feels like? Or are you somehow immune? Does your mental well being rely on believing an abusive parental style of story telling?

How many times do you have to culled by the owned media before you figure it out?

    • #34 by Richard Warnick on May 24, 2014 - 11:36 pm

Interestingly enough, Edward Snowden has been interviewed by Brian Williams. It will air on NBC this Wednesday.

Instead of “culled,” I think you meant to say “gulled.”

  22. #35 by Anonymous on May 25, 2014 - 2:33 pm

I’ll take that as a fair concession to my point. Cheers Richard.
