Kerry Caught On Hot Mic Mocking Precision Of Israeli Strikes As Gaza Operation Intensifies

Air strike on Gaza

Via FDL:

Secretary of State John Kerry, who was on every network political show over the weekend justifying Israel’s actions in Gaza, was caught on a hot mic giving a very different assessment. Kerry said “It’s a hell of a pinpoint operation,” while talking to an aide on the phone, mocking the accuracy of Israel’s weapons strikes which Israel claims are limited and precise.

Precision is of course one thing, while accuracy is another thing. A bomb, missile, or tank round can precisely hit the wrong target. Which is what is happening, inevitably, in Gaza. Israeli air strikes and artillery fire have hit civilian homes, mosques, and hospitals. Ambulances have been destroyed.

The 7-year Israeli/Egyptian blockade of Gaza is a violation of international law, an act of war, and a crime against humanity.

US Only Country To Vote No On UN Resolution Against Killing Civilians In Gaza

The result of the resolution – which passed despite the US’ no vote – will be a UN probe into how Israel is using force in Gaza, particularly against civilians. Of the 732 Palestinians now reported killed from Operation Protective Edge an estimated 80% have been civilians.

Gaza Death Toll Over 1,000

More than 1,000 people, mainly civilians, have been killed and more than 6,000 have been wounded over the past 19 days, al-Kidra said. Israeli strikes have destroyed hundreds of homes, including close to 500 in targeted hits, and forced tens of thousands of people to flee, according to Palestinian rights groups.

Douchebag and criminals run the USA..irrespective of party affiliation.

It’s disgusting and going to get us destroyed.

Hell we are already destroyed, a parody of democracy and freedom wherever we tread. Soaked in blood. Disgrace.

You are going to hit civilian homes, mosques, and hospitals when rockets are being fired from civilian homes, mosques, and hospitals.

All the weapons falling on Gaza we give away…Israel has been stealing land since the day it was born.. The problem is not going to go away…Israel knows that which is why it is engaged in the genocide option.

Ironic given how the tribe is hated and murdered in much the same way over time.

These are people who have strapped bomb vests to 10 year old kids. I would not be surprised at this point.

Amnesty accuses Israel of using human shields in Gaza (Note: this article refers to the 2008-2009 Gaza invasion, Operation Cast Lead).

Israeli troops forced Palestinians to stay in one room of their home while turning the rest of the house into a base and sniper position, “effectively using the families, both adults and children, as human shields and putting them at risk,” the group said.

“Intentionally using civilians to shield a military objective, often referred to as using ‘human shields’ is a war crime,” Amnesty said.

It could not support Israeli claims that Hamas used human shields. It said it found no evidence Palestinian fighters directed civilians to shield military objectives from attacks, forced them to stay in buildings used by militants, or prevented them from leaving commandeered buildings.

The U.N. Fact Finding Mission (Goldstone Report) also found no evidence that Palestinian combatants mingled with the civilian population with the intention of shielding themselves from attack.

NBC News’ Ayman Mohyeldin has covered three wars in Gaza, and he reports that he has never observed Hamas using civilians as human shields. No other journalist has seen this either (5:34 on the embedded video).

AIPAC Is the Only Explanation for America’s Morally Bankrupt Israel Policy

As it has on several prior occasions, Israel is using weapons provided by U.S. taxpayers to bombard the captive and impoverished Palestinians in Gaza, where the death toll now exceeds 500. As usual, the U.S. government is siding with Israel, even though most American leaders understand Israel instigated the latest round of violence, is not acting with restraint, and that its actions make Washington look callous and hypocritical in the eyes of most of the world.

This Orwellian situation is eloquent testimony to the continued political clout of AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee) and the other hardline elements of the Israel lobby.

“When you look at what’s happening right now in Gaza, this is a massive massacre and one epic series of war crime after war crime, child after child being killed.”

Scahill went on to say that “Israeli propagandists are largely given carte blanche to say what they want on American television with very little pushback.”

ITV News witnesses aftermath of UN school attack in Gaza

The Beit Hanoun elementary school, which was being used as a shelter, had around 800 people – mostly women and children – inside when the attack took place at 2.30pm today.

UN spokesman Adnan Abu Hassna told ITV News that the Israeli military attacked the school, despite having received the exact co-ordinates of the facility.

That’s what happens when you launch thousands of rockets from Gaza into Israel for years, and then stockpile weapons in schools.

      What did they expect?

      • #21 by Richard Warnick on July 30, 2014 - 11:33 am

What did Israel expect after blockading the people of Gaza for 8 years and dropping bombs on them? A blockade is an act of war under international law.

Debunked: The Mendacious Propaganda Israel is Pushing to Justify Its War On Gaza

The most insulting thing here is that many of the world’s leaders like Angela Merkel of Germany and Barack Obama of the United States are speaking of Israel’s right to defend itself, while no single word is said of the Palestinians’ right to defend themselves, although the Palestinians are the oppressed ones, the underdogs in this struggle. The Palestinians are the ones whose land has been occupied for 47 years, who have been forced into displacement and refugee status since 1948, who are suffering from a system of apartheid, discrimination and segregation created by the Israeli occupation. Yet, not a single word has been uttered about our right to defend ourselves.

In Gaza, more than a thousand civilians have been killed, including hundreds of innocent children. 1.8 million people are without electricity and water. Huge numbers are homeless. They all blame Israel, not Hamas. Outside the USA, very few are buying the Israeli propaganda. But here, thanks to the MSM, lots of Americans seem to believe Israel was subjected to an unprovoked attack and is responding proportionately.

That and the fact that the spam analytics can’t parse your sentences, and to a computer you don’t seem to be speaking English. But I doubt we can fix that for you in the limited time we have together on this site…

    Richard Warnick :

Your link contains no mention of “10 year old kids.” It also says:

“Major Palestinian armed groups, including Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Islamic Jihad, and Hamas, have publicly disavowed the use of children in military operations…”

If you are trying to justify the killing of children by the Israeli armed forces, there is no justification.

I am not trying to justify it. You are simply going by a logical fallacy that just because you are fighting against evil, then you must be good. By that logic, Stalin and Saddam must be very swell people.

Unfortunately at this point, it has been concluded that both sides cannot exist together in peace and if I had to chose, I would rather have the liberal, secular Israel that has women’s rights, universal suffrage and a large amount of GDP going to education than another Islamic Autocracy with no women’s rights, no separation of mosque and state, no democracy and an unequal distribution of wealth were only one person has 99% of the country’s wealth.

    • #31 by Richard Warnick on July 31, 2014 - 1:33 pm

What you mean is that Israel, one of the world’s leading military powers, has concluded that peace is not in their interest. Check out my post from today.
