House Intelligence Committee Finds No Wrongdoing by the Administration in Benghazi

Conservatives have now spent 2 years shrieking hysterically about BENGHAZI, convinced of some sort of malfeasance or deliberate wrongdoing by the Obama Administration. According to the Republican led House Intelligence Committee, not so much.

Among the key findings:

— Intelligence agencies were “warned about an increased threat environment, but did not have specific tactical warning of an attack before it happened.”

— “A mixed group of individuals, including those associated with al Qaeda, (Moammar) Khadafy loyalists and other Libyan militias, participated in the attack.”

— “There was no ‘stand-down order’ given to American personnel attempting to offer assistance that evening, no illegal activity or illegal arms transfers occurring by U.S. personnel in Benghazi, and no American was left behind.”

— The administration’s process for developing “talking points” was “flawed, but the talking points reflected the conflicting intelligence assessments in the days immediately following the crisis.”

Anyone betting this will mean conservatives will stop hysterically shrieking about Benghazi is taking a sucker’s bet.

Hillary Clinton’s tenure as Secretary of State was lackluster, but for the most part competent. Benghazi was the worst thing that happened on her watch, so the Tea-GOP has seized on it in a desperate attempt to derail her presidential campaign before it starts.

      Desperate campaign or factual campaign?

She lied to the grieving parents. What more do you need?

Faux News: Family members of Benghazi victims confident House probe will produce truth

And the committee concluded there was no administration wrongdoing regarding the Benghazi attack. Don’t forget, this is the 7th or 8th government investigation of Benghazi. Hopefully, that’s enough.

You have a copy of the report? Or just leaked conclusions by lefties for lefties?

          • #10 by Richard Warnick on August 5, 2014 - 11:58 am

If you read the article, you would know that the committee voted to declassify their report, but before it reaches the public it has to go through an intelligence review.

          • #11 by brewski on August 5, 2014 - 12:48 pm

So in other words, you and no one else has seen the report.

          • #12 by brewski on August 5, 2014 - 12:50 pm

So the alleged conclusion is that they didn’t “lie” per se, they just had bad intelligence.

Gee, where have I heard that before?

You dismissed that conclusion before, and now you embrace it.

            You’re a partisan hack.

          • #13 by Richard Warnick on August 5, 2014 - 1:05 pm

Again, read the article. Rep. Mike Thompson (D-CA), the second-ranking Democrat on the committee, has read the report.

Thompson said the report “confirms that no one was deliberately misled, no military assets were withheld and no stand-down order (to U.S. forces) was given.”

          • #14 by brewski on August 5, 2014 - 6:24 pm

So your sole source is some hack Democrat?

          • #16 by Richard Warnick on August 6, 2014 - 7:25 am

It has been noted that Republicans on the committee are unusually silent regarding the report’s conclusions. What does that tell you, brewski?

        • #17 by brewski on August 5, 2014 - 9:30 am

“When I was approached by Hillary Clinton at the coming-home ceremony of the bodies at Andrews Air Force Base, and she said, ‘We’re going to go out and we’re going to prosecute that person that made the video,’ I knew that she wasn’t telling the truth, and I think the whole world knows that now,” he explained.

More like flat bluster..and murderess incompetence…” We came, we saw, he died” ? Now look at Libya..jihadi training school.

Benghazi is the least of the stupid bitches disaster.

She basically helped lay the groundwork for what ISIS is now doing in Iraq..sawing off shia heads.

She prevailed over installing our stooge puppet poreshenko in Ukraine to the evolving disaster that is possibly going to emerge as WW3.

Hillary as president? People have to be out of their cotton picking minds.

She’s a loser, that’s what matters to America.

She’s has so many negatives and is unelectable. Can’t even win her own party, so president? After the ass fucking this president has given the people they will well be looking elsewhere than granny pants democrats.

Fox News Quiet After Congressional Report Finds No Benghazi Scandal

It’s a clinical, point-by-point refutation of the Benghazi hoax Fox has pushed for nearly 2 years.

Yet Fox News made no mention of the report on Monday. In sharp contrast to its current silence, when House Speaker John Boehner announced the formation of a select committee to investigate Benghazi in June, Fox devoted at least 225 segments to the topic over just two weeks, an estimated publicity value of more than $124 million.

Fox’s sudden lack of interest in congressional investigations into Benghazi comes less then one week after Rep. Trey Gowdy, head of the select committee, announced – in what Fox News billed as an “exclusive” interview – that he would hold more public hearings on the attacks in September.

How The Newest House Benghazi Report Should Change Media’s Approach To Gowdy’s Select Committee

The findings present a new challenge for media outlets in the runup to Gowdy’s Benghazi select committee, explicitly formed to investigate “unanswered questions” that previous Benghazi investigations have long-since asked and answered. When House Republicans announced plans to form the committee in May, many in the media presented Gowdy’s premise of “unanswered questions” as legitimate.

Fox News, which relentlessly campaigned for a select committee, has dutifully continued to promote it, regardless of the investigation’s $3.3 million price tag.

The Service Employees International Union probably expected a warm welcome when it tried to unionize the nonprofit Media Matters, or that it would be able to do so using the very card-check vote Media Matters champions.

But then the union discovered that Media Matters’ management doesn’t believe a word of the union propaganda it’s been peddling.

Media Matters says it’s not “actively opposing” the SEIU’s effort. But it isn’t exactly putting out the welcome wagon, either.

First, it rejected the card-check proposal, forcing the union to petition the National Labor Relations Board for an election. Then it hired a top-flight firm that specializes in helping management with union disputes.

“For an organization that says they are not opposing employees’ efforts to unionize, it’s a little suspicious that they hired such a fancy legal team,” an SEIU spokesman told the Washington Examiner.

As long as Media Matters keeps watch on the right-wing media, they can do it with either union or non-union people.

After the discovery now that this admin has been funding jihadi terrorists in Libya, Syria, and now Iraq, the maiden Nazis in Ukraine…its no stretch to know that the Benghazi affair is a complete coverup.

The revelations of these truths would tear faith in government to shreds.

Hey news flash..the faith is gone, and the US government is torn to shreds.

  9. #44 by Richard Warnick on August 14, 2014 - 7:38 am

If the Tea-GOP wants something real to attack President Obama, why not go after him on drone attacks and warrantless surveillance? Rand Paul is showing them the way.

  10. #45 by piss poor website on August 14, 2014 - 12:11 pm

Benghazi is the tip of the iceberg, to anyone who cares about the good name of the United States attacking obama for anything that would diminish him would be a patriotic duty.

The question is why aren’t any in his own party going after him for his obvious crimes and malfeasance?

  11. #46 by piss poor website on August 14, 2014 - 12:27 pm

This is then a nation of expedient losers, whose morality and ethics is as malleable as play doh if their own ox be gored or self interest is at risk.

This goes as far as pride…I cannot count the addled progressives who still avail themselves to obama simply because they cannot admit to themselves how bamboozled they have been by him and his host of miscreants.
