Matt Harding Checks In

We had a visit from Matt in 2012, out at the Great Salt Lake where we got to dance in the lake. Salt Lake City didn’t make the cut for the final video, but we were included in the out-takes. Maybe we can get him to come back?

I dance with people all over the world and put it on YouTube to show that the world is safer and friendlier than we’re led to believe.

If you’ve seen my videos and they’ve meant something to you, I hope you’ll support my new project. Here’s the Kickstarter page:

This time, YOU tell me where to go. Your pledge will count as a vote for where you live, and I’ll come out to dance in the cities with the most backers.

I look forward to dancing with you soon!

    I kicked in $10.

I love the man! He brings joy to the world and makes me proud to be an American. I like what he said in the Video:

The world is actually a whole lot safer then it looks on TV

And he’s been LOT’s of places. You can watch his videos dozens of times and see something funny that you never noticed before.

    Long may you dance, Matt!

His donations were sort of stuck around $60,000 for a few days but things are picking up. I think he’s going to make it.

I guess, the way it works is if he doesn’t make the goal of $125,000 in 7 days, I get my $10 back. I don’t want my $10 back, I want a darn Matt video!

    He’s made it!

He’s up to $112,000 with 6 days to go!

START PACKING, MATT! Can’t wait to see your next video/s.

    Latest e-mail from Matt:

You’ve heard from me once or twice over the last month. Okay, maybe three times. This is it. My Kickstarter campaign to make a new round-the-world dancing video just entered its final 24 hours.

And guess what. WE”RE BACKED! It’s actually happening!

I want to thank everyone who’s supported the project. To that end, I’ll be visiting the top 5 cities in the world with the most backers. I already danced in San Francisco and Seattle last week (and I’ll probably do it again). With those two crossed off, the next 5 on the list are:

    • 1. New York, NY – 141 votes
    • 2. Boston, MA – 136 votes
    • 3. Los Angeles, CA – 108 votes
    • 4. Washington, D.C. – 100 votes
    • 5. London, England – 96 votes

As I write this, we’re just past $130,000. If we reach our stretch goal of $150,000 before Thursday at 3:17pm Pacific, I’ll go dance in the next 5 cities on the list, which are:

    • 6. Chicago, IL – 92 votes
    • 7. Portland, OR – 90 votes
    • 8. Denver, CO – 72 votes
    • 9. Philadelphia, PA – 70 votes
    • 10. Columbus, OH – 58 votes
Canada, Australia, and Germany, you’re in the next three spots.

Toronto needs 3 backers to get in the top 10.

    Sydney needs 5 backers.

    Düsseldorf needs 8.

Paris, you’re only 10 votes away.

Do you really want the US to take 9 of the top 10 spots?

When you make a pledge, you automatically vote for the nearest big city to where you’re located in your Kickstarter profile. But if you want to make sure I get it right, send me a message in Kickstarter and tell me where you want your vote to go.

    You can PLEDGE HERE:

And here’s what you can get:

    • For $10 you get a vote and a download of the new video.
    • For $25 I’ll send you a postcard from somewhere far away and exotic during my trip.
    • For $100 I’ll send you six postcards over the course of my trip.
    • For $400 I’ll make you a customized dancing video from all over the world, with a special message from you to a friend or loved one.
    • For $2000 I’ll come to you anywhere in the world to dance.
    • For $6000 I’ll take you to Bhutan, where we’ll hike to the Tiger’s Nest monastery perched on the side of a cliff.
    • For $8000 we’ll go to Myanmar and ride a hot air balloon over the lost city of Bagan.
In the last three hours of the campaign, I’ll be doing a LIVE DANCE MARATHON. I’ll be on camera the whole time. If you back or raise your pledge during those three hours, I’ll thank you by name and dance for you on the spot.

At 12:17pm Pacific tomorrow, go to:

And then after that, you won’t hear from me unless I’m dancing near where you live.

If these videos have meant something to you, I hope you’ll help make this next video the best one yet, so we can spread the message that the world is a whole lot safer and friendlier than it looks on TV. We don’t have to let hate and ignorance silence the simple moments of joy and playfulness that give us meaning. We can choose not to be afraid of each other.

I look forward to dancing with you soon.

Thank goodness Matt cleaned up his language. That always bothered my sensitive self.
