Cenk Uygur: ‘I Need You Guys to Buckle Up’

This convention is likely to be a thousand times more raucous than the Republican Convention, more divided, and so it’s about to start in a little bit and I need you guys to buckle up because there could be a lot more action here than there was last week. Remember the Republicans by their nature are authoritarian. They will fall in line, because that’s what they do — they’re conservatives. Whereas liberals do not agree. And so they don’t agree with the corporate control, they don’t agree with the money in politics, and Hillary Clinton is never going to give it up. So, that dissension is super real, and you are about to see it the next four days.

The Young Turks – Live From the DNC

Cenk is exactly right, and I don’t think the E-mail dump is even that important. It’s supposed to be the democratic party of the people and everybody knows it not after this primary season.

They will probably be booing Hillary when she gives her speech on Thursday, and that’s what she deserves. I’ll still vote for her, but that’s what the leadership of this party deserves.

Hillary supporters are all over the Web claiming that (1) there is nothing in the e-mails, and (2) it’s a dastardly plot by Putin. Funny how the FBI had to slowly investigate Hillary’s e-mails for a year before they could say anything, but this investigation wrapped up in less than three days!

There is something. There is proof the DNC was offering federal appointments to corporate CEOs in exchange for major donations to the Hillary campaign. Nobody at the DNC is denying this. Hillary is doing her best Captain Renault impression (“I’m shocked, shocked…”)

On the other hand, if the super delegates stun everybody and vote for Sanders, the only people who will really be outraged are the super wealthy class she represents. Big F’n deal.

It’s gonna be noisy in there all week. Time for the establishment to set up the noise reduction microphones to keep the crowd quiet.

One great thing to me about what I’m seeing at the Democratic National Convention is the absence of cheap, tacky, sickening, ridiculous, glittery red white and blue patriotism turned up to eleven.

    These look like normal people.

Here’s some funny, but interesting advice for where Bernie Sanders may want to go from here.

    Bernie Should Take Satan’s Advice

I read Palast’s, “The Best Democracy Money Can Buy”, many years ago, and it is funny, but also one of the scariest books I’ve ever read. I’m talking, Chris Hedges, scary. The movie should be very interesting.
