Whoever added Khizr and Ghazala Khan to the DNC Schedule Deserves a HUGE Raise

Because, frankly, Khizr Khan has done more good than anyone could have expected.  When Trump started attacking him and his wife, he unleashed a fierce, moral advocate who has done nothing but hurt Trump.

This morning’s article

Khizr Khan, Father of Fallen U.S. Soldier: Trump Lacks ‘Moral Compass’

Says exactly what needs to be said but which a regular politician cannot say.

FWIW, Trump is actively being a bully – a presidential candidate personally attacking the parents of a dead soldier?  There’s no way this looks good for him but he keeps doing it.

There are some relevant questions not being asked in the many Khan interviews on cable TV. What was the process by which Mr. and Mrs. Khan got to the podium at the DNC? Who told Khan to personally insult Donald Trump (obviously a plan to provoke a public response)?

As a point of information none of Trump’s proposals actually violate the U.S. Constitution, as Mr. Khan implied. He is a lawyer, so ignorance is no excuse. Especially if you are going to wave a copy of the Constitution.

Meanwhile Nina Turner and other Bernie supporters were prevented from speaking, I might add! Because they might have talked about actual issues that matter to real people.

The OMG Trump! campaign won’t get Hillary as many Tea-GOP votes as she thinks it will. These people have hated her with a passion for 25 years. Progressives only started to hate Hillary fairly recently.

Politico has the story. But we are supposed to believe nobody told Khan what to say.

Meanwhile, look who held a invitation-only party in Philadelphia during the DNC…

Blackstone operates in leveraged buyouts, asset management, and real estate transactions. It is the largest real estate private equity firm in the world, holding over $103 billion in assets. After the housing bubble collapsed, Blackstone bought 43,000 single-family homes over a two-year period, at one point buying more than $100 million worth of homes per week. They converted most of these into rentals, becoming one of the largest landlords in the world.

If Mr. Khan is looking for constitutional violations, I’ve got one for him.

U.S. Launches Airstrikes Targeting ISIS In Libya

SIRTE, Libya/WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. planes bombed Islamic State targets in Libya on Monday, responding to the U.N.-backed government’s request to help push the militants from their former stronghold of Sirte in what U.S. officials described as the start of a sustained campaign against the extremist group in the city.

…Although it does not include the use of ground troops beyond small special forces squads rotating in and out of Libya and drones collecting intelligence, the air campaign opens a new front in the war against IS and what American officials consider its most dangerous component outside Syria and Iraq.

Obama authorized the strikes after a recommendation by U.S. Secretary of Defense Ash Carter.

Oh right because that is so much worse than the woman who sent his son to die.

NYT: After Lying Low, Deep-Pocketed Clinton Donors Return to the Fore

“The Clinton people would always argue, ‘Well, there’s no connection between the money and the actions that we take,’ ” said Jonathan Tasini, a liberal organizer and Sanders delegate from New York. “That’s what these cocktail parties and receptions are all about. It’s about access and whose phone calls get answered.”

For many Clinton donors, particularly those from the financial sector, the convention is a time to shed what one called the “hypersensitivity” that had previously surrounded their appearance at Mrs. Clinton’s fund-raisers or at her political events, during a period when Mr. Sanders repeatedly attacked Mrs. Clinton’s connections to Wall Street and her six-figure speaking fees from financial institutions.

“I think we’re past that,” said Alan Patricof, a longtime donor to Mrs. Clinton, when asked about the need to lie low during the primaries.

In Philadelphia, donors were handed preferred suites at the Ritz-Carlton and “Friends and Family” packages created for longtime Clinton hands — some of them also longtime benefactors. Some were granted time backstage or in the Clinton family box with former President Bill Clinton and Chelsea Clinton.

…At first-come-first-served seats near the bar, assistants huddled around lengthy spreadsheets, figuring out which donors were entitled to which passes to which events. Outside, a protester walked with a sign denouncing big money. Inside, two stocky men could be heard debating the merits of the different ambassadorships they hoped to earn under Mrs. Clinton. Even a low-ranking posting meant having “ambassador” on a child’s wedding invitation, the two agreed, and would be helpful in wrangling invitations to sit on corporate boards.

    Meanwhile in the Tea-GOP…

Poor Sean Hannity Is Having A Meltdown, People

“If in 96 days Trump loses this election, I am pointing the finger directly at people like Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell and Lindsey Graham and John McCain,” Hannity said. “I have watched these Republicans be more harsh toward Donald Trump than they’ve ever been in standing up to Barack Obama and his radical agenda.

“They did nothing, nothing — all these phony votes to repeal and replace Obamacare, show votes so they can go back and keep their power and get reelected,” Hannity continued. “Sorry, you created Donald Trump, all of you. Because of your ineffectiveness, because of your weakness, your spinelessness, your lack of vision, your inability to fight Obama.”

Rocky Anderson debating Sean Hannity was one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen, and they were actually arguing over who won. Hannity should be mumbling to himself on the street, not making millions to mumble on the public airwaves.
