Leonard Pitts to Trump: Just who the hell do you think you are?

Yesterday, Leonard Pitts published a bracing editorial in response to statements from Trumpistas:

Just last Sunday, senior policy adviser Stephen Miller declared on CBS’ “Face The Nation” that “our opponents, the media and the whole world will soon see as we begin to take further actions, that the powers of the president to protect our country are very substantial and will not be questioned.”

What you do “will not be questioned?” Lord, have mercy. That’s the kind of statement that, in another time and place, would have been greeted with an out-thrust palm and a hearty “Sieg heil!” Here in this time and place, however, it demands a different response:

Just who the hell do you think you are?

It gets better:

Yet you and your coterie of cartoon autocrats think you’re going to cow them into silence and compliance by ordering them to shut up and obey? Well, as a freeborn American, I can answer that in two syllables flat.

Hell no.

Trust me, read the whole thing.

The Tea-GOP Congress and right wing judges thwarted many of President Obama’s attempts to make government work for the people. They made Obama look powerless, all the while whining about his alleged dictatorial tendencies. Yet now they think Trump is above the law? Hypocrisy isn’t a strong enough word.

Hypocrisy has worked wonderfully for the Republican Christians, even over decades of being caught doing it. Pay attention to who Donald Trump and Mike Pence are appealing to and will use to steal the election in 2018.

I know some Americans think this is clever and constitutes winning, but there’s no way this could have been accomplished without election fraud in election offices around the country.

This has been planned. I can’t post this video enough:

Sorry Christians. It’s up to you to clean up your act. My mom is a Mormon Christian to the bone and wouldn’t dream of this kind of chicanery. She is a minority in the Mormon Church today.

Things used to be different. What the hell happened?

You could start by losing Orrin Hatch. Probably the most hypocritical man on the planet.

Trump was campaigning in Orlando today, seemingly unaware that he won already and is responsible for his actions. Promised to drain the swamp in Washington! His deluded followers still cheer him on, and the campaign theme song is still “You Can’t Always Get What You Want.”

Fact-checkers will spend hours correcting Trump’s lies.
