Unpresidented – Trump Cannot Make SCOTUS Appointment In His Last Year

Video from Washington Post.

The Tea-GOP stole a Supreme Court nomination away from President Obama. Trump should not be allowed to benefit from that theft. Dems need to shut it down. “Nuclear” option? Sure, fine, there is nothing to lose now! Trump won’t last a year, and the new rule is no SCOTUS appointments with less than a year to go.

Do not legitimize Trump. Today, the Tea-GOP senators had to break Senate rules to vote on Trump’s nominees in committee with no Dems present. Munchkin lied about robo-signing, he disqualified himself.

Bonus: Senator Orrin Hatch is going around complaining about too much partisanship in the Senate!

The corporate media (MSNBC) is claiming that Trump’s pick won’t change the balance of the Court. That is ridiculous, as the court is currently tied 4-4.

Also too, making excuses for Dems saying they are only reluctantly obstructing because of pressure from progressives. The implication is things will soon return to normal, with Dem invertebrates floating aimlessly in the swamp that isn’t being drained.

That last part would make an excellent Bagley cartoon, but he’s already weighed in on this nicely.

Trump urges Senate GOP to trigger ‘nuclear option’ on Gorsuch nomination

Thus exposing Tea-GOP hypocrisy. Merrick Garland spent months walking the halls on Capitol Hill begging for a hearing.

    Speaking of the nuclear option…

Trump declared war on Iran today, or possibly just put them on double-secret probation. Nobody seems to know.

Elections have consequences, didn’t some scumbucket from Chicago say something like that once right before he ignored the Repuke party…went nuclear?..Ah, Karma..Ran over obama’s Dogma..

Senator Edward Kennedy had this to say about a famous supreme court rejection from yesteryear:

This debate has been a timely lesson in this bicentennial year of the Constitution of our commitment to the rule of law, to the principle of equal justice for all Americans and to the fundamental role of the Supreme Court in protecting the basic rights of every citizen.

In choosing Robert Bork, President Reagan has selected a nominee who is unique in fulminating opposition to fundamental constitutional principles as they are broadly understood in our society.

He has expressed opposition time and again, in a long line of attacks on landmark Supreme Court decisions protecting civil rights, the rights of women, the right to privacy and other individual rights and liberties. Judge Bork may be President Reagan’s ideal ideological choice…but that choice is not acceptable to Congress and the country, and it is not acceptable in a Justice of the nation’s highest court.

Bork became attorney general when Nixon’s attorney general, and then the next in line attorney general refused to break the law for Nixon. Bork was willing to do the dirty deed.

After the congress rejected Bork as a Reagan appointment to the supreme court, the Republicans made his name into a verb. For years, all you heard every time some Republican judge got rejected was that he had been “Borked”. Since Democrats never stand up for themselves, most people probably still think Democrats are unfair to judicial appointments.

I move that Judge Neil Gorsuch, who is being promoted by the Robert Bork founded, Koch Brothers funded Federalist Society, henceforth be BORKED before he gets anywhere near the stolen slot on our highest court.

It’ll always be “kill and reanimate” to me. 😀

At any rate… GOVERNMENT RUN repair.

Does this mean the “death tax” is now just going to a better place?

Luntz is a thing all himself. He was interviewed for a movie about how right wing radio makes mild mannered fathers into lunatics and he honestly can’t see any damage he’s done. Just, plain can’t see it.
