As part of my job, I have three fairly major deadlines looming. I’ve done most if not all the work I need to do for those deadlines. What’s left is relatively minor and fast. However, I am completely freaking out about them.
For reasons having no great import, I recently uncovered a book in my library – What Type Am I? Discover who you really are by Renee Baron.
Myers-Briggs Type Indicator – MBTI for short – is a tool that’s been around for a while and is used to measure and describe personality. MBTI uses four axes to describe personality – Extravert/Intravert, Sensing/Intuition, Thinking/Feeling, Judging/Perceiving. Extravert/Intravert describes where you get energized, Sensing/Intuition describes how you take in information, Thinking/Feeling describe how you make decisions and Judging/Perceiving describe how you live in the world (thus a judging person prefers to use the T/F access while the perceiving person uses sensing/intuition access). Each of these axes of course measures a continuum. You can be a strong Thinker or Feeler and or a weak one and so on. MBTI doesn’t address specific skills or even try to measure intellect.
