Capitol Switchboard Used to Pitch ObamaCare?

The tax payer funded Congress and Senate switchboard is being illegally used to push ObamaCare. If you call your Congressman or Senator via the Capitol switchboard you will be given a pitch to urge your Congressman to vote for Obama’s health-care plan.

Thank you for calling your Representative and your Senators.

Please urge them to vote yes on health insurance reform. Because the American people can no longer wait for more choices, lower costs, and coverage we can count on.

Try it yourself at 1-800-828-0498 while it lasts.

I tried it myself just to make sure and this is absolutely true.

Here is the audio:

This is not the first time government resources have been used to promote ObamaCare. As we know the administration set up a snitch email, the now defunct, flag@whitehouse.gov.

Whether you approve of Obama’s health care plan or not you should be outraged that tax-payer funded resources are being used to push anyone’s political agenda. When you call your Congressman you should not be subjected to any kind of pitch prior to being connected.

Call your Congressman and alert them to put a stop to this, and hold those responsible for this miss-allocation of government resources.

Imagine the outcry if George W Bush tried this?

******UPDATE*******

After some investigating this 800 number may actually be run by liberal lobbying groups duping people into calling that number instead of the regular Capitol switchboard, then they give you the pitch and forward you to the real one.

If this is the case then we need to find out the organization(s) behind this and expose them. It would be interesting to discover the legality of this. What we may need to do is call this number repeatedly because every call costs the 800 number owners money. Just make sure you don’t let the call forward to the switchboard so no tax money will be used. This is what happened after flag@whitehouse.gov was exposed. So many people spammed it that it forced them to take it down.

Leases Canceled and Oil Companies Lie

archesCliff posted yesterday the breaking news that Obama’s new Interior Secretary Ken Salazar had nullified the BLM’s illegal sale of leases to drill for gas and oil near Utah’s national parks.

The response from the oil industry was predictable:

But Kathleen Sgamma, director of government affairs for the Independent Petroleum Association of Mountain States, a nonprofit association that represents independent natural gas and oil producers in the Intermountain West, said her group had “grave concerns” over the direction the new administration was taking.

“This is going to make it more difficult to develop the natural gas resources we need for our nation’s energy security,” she said. [emphasis added]

So what about this?

Drillers cutting back in Utah’s biggest gas field

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The frenzied pace of drilling in Utah’s biggest gas field, the Uinta Basin, has seen a big decline with falling petroleum prices and tight bank credit.

The number of rigs at work statewide is down to 23, half of the number as last August, according to figures the Utah Division of Oil, Gas and Mining plans to release Wednesday.

Also, the number of gas wells completed in January was 63, down from 84 for the same month last year.

Most of Utah’s drilling activity takes place near Vernal in the Uinta Basin, where one player, Colorado-based Gasco Energy, says it called off an expensive experiment to do horizontal drilling, which can dramatically boost production.

Gasco cited declining prices for Rocky Mountain natural gas, which is hard to pipe out of the region.

You bet the oil companies want to tie up these leases, whether they develop them or not. Look at the thousands of leases for off-shore drilling they now own but have never developed. And still, they want more of those too. And they want to rip up the delicate Utah landscape for oilshale as well!

The oil companies are not interested in our security so much as their own profits. With oil prices so low, there will be no new development. The oil companies try to make themselves look like patriots in this debacle. Let’s not be deceived. It’s only about money.

Bush lied, thousands died

On the last day of the Bush presidency, let’s review the greatest shame of his regime.

It’s almost 11 minutes in length, but extremely important. We must never forget. Will these criminals ever face justice?

Readers, please add your own links and videos in the comments. There are just too many to even narrow them down to the most succinct.

Proof Republicans Are Liars

One might take exception to the plural Republicans, in the title, but they shouldn’t. ALL the republican candidates (except Ron Paul) lied about tons of stuff. Its all there on tape. Republicans are liars.

Lying Americans to Death

I would seem that Rachel Maddow has unleashed a vile of courage in the Washington Press Corps. Its about time.

I remember fondly the first time I heard phrases like “not wholly accurate” and “of questionable validity” shift to use of the ‘L’-word. It was sometime in late 2004.

You can only imagine my delight these days. I seems one can almost breath in the new, fresh air of truth as truth should be, distinct and elevated by the honest use of the word ‘Lie’

Paul Krugman lost his virginity today. Its all the rage.

These stories have two things in common: they’re all claims recently made by the McCain campaign — and they’re all out-and-out lies.

Dishonesty is nothing new in politics. I spent much of 2000 — my first year at The Times — trying to alert readers to the blatant dishonesty of the Bush campaign’s claims about taxes, spending and Social Security.

But I can’t think of any precedent, at least in America, for the blizzard of lies since the Republican convention. The Bush campaign’s lies in 2000 were artful — you needed some grasp of arithmetic to realize that you were being conned. This year, however, the McCain campaign keeps making assertions that anyone with an Internet connection can disprove in a minute, and repeating these assertions over and over again.

The first hint of the fresh air from Washington came from the Post on Wednesday in As Campaign Heats Up, Untruths Can Become Facts Before They’re Undone. Not only does a staff write use the “L-word”, he refers to it as such.

But here is why every good Utahn should vote for Obama.

Fed up, the Obama campaign broke a taboo on Monday and used the “L-word” of politics to say that the McCain campaign was lying about the Bridge to Nowhere.

Palin and John McCain, the GOP presidential nominee, have been more aggressive in recent days in repeating what their opponents say are outright lies. Almost every day, for instance, McCain says rival Barack Obama would raise everyone’s taxes, even though the Democrat’s tax plan exempts families that earn less than $250,000.

The ‘taboo’ is broken.

This 2006 article, Woodward Affirms Bush Is a Liar, I think, reflects the mid-point in our struggle to protect the virtue of truth referring to ‘half truths’ and ‘untruths’ as LIES.

In other words, Woodward defends himself by pointing out, in numerous ways, that George W. Bush is a liar.

But I am puzzled–you see, I read the Washington Post every single morning, and for the life of me I can’t remember the big front-page headlines where the biggest-name reporter in the Western World specifically called George W. Bush a liar about the biggest issue facing America.

I call on my noble adversaries and my priesthood holding friends to RISE UP, take back the truth at whatever cost! Lets together become the protectors of, nay, warriors for, TRUTH.

For there is nothing more dangerous, than complacency in the face of a lie.

I say this in the name of Jesus Christ…

Watch for upcoming episodes about other Republican liars. And feel free to suggest YOUR favorite Republican liar in the comments below.

Republican Silence as Deafening As Their Lies

Can you hear the silence?

Now hear the lies.

And those are the easy ones. The distortions of truth (also called lying) are as egregious.

If you support Republicans, you support lying.
